Post Holdings Taps Greg Pearson to Lead Consumer Brands Division

Post Holdings has appointed Greg Pearson as president and chief executive of its Post Consumer Brands unit, effective this April. Pearson succeeds Nicolas Catoggio, who transitioned to the role of chief operating officer last month, as the consumer packaged goods giant strengthens its leadership to navigate the competitive grocery and pet food sectors.

Post Holdings Taps Greg Pearson to Lead Consumer Brands Division

Pearson joins the St. Louis-based holding company from Compana Pet Brands, where he has served as chief executive since early 2023. His track record includes a successful tenure as CEO of Pretzels, Inc., where he orchestrated the company’s sale to The Hershey Company in 2021. This background in both private label and branded goods is central to Post’s strategy for its flagship consumer division.

A Strategic Leadership Transition

The appointment marks a significant shift for the division, which manages a diverse portfolio ranging from cereal to pet nutrition. Pearson’s resume also features senior leadership roles at Chewy.com and Conagra Brands, providing him with deep expertise in digital retail and traditional manufacturing. Post Holdings CEO Rob Vitale noted that Pearson’s experience in transforming businesses across multiple categories makes him a "great fit" for the organization.

Pearson’s arrival follows a series of executive movements and strategic priorities within the company:

    • Nicolas Catoggio’s promotion to the COO role last month.
    • The integration of diverse brands across the grocery and pet sectors.
    • A focus on scaling both name-brand and private-label assets.
