Equinox Gold Eyes Production Surge After Orla Mining Merger

With the acquisition of Orla Mining now finalized, Equinox Gold is positioning itself as a dominant force in North American gold production. The Canadian miner confirmed it remains on course to meet its 2026 output targets, signaling a major shift in scale following the integration of key assets in Canada and Mexico.

Equinox Gold Eyes Production Surge After Orla Mining Merger

The company reported production of 237,000 ounces for the third quarter, a significant jump from the 176,836 ounces recorded in the previous three-month period. This uptick reflects two months of contributions from the Musselwhite mine in Canada and the Camino Rojo operation in Mexico. Total gold sales reached 248,484 ounces, bolstering the firm’s financial standing as it navigates a broader market downturn.

Equinox now projects an annual output between 870,000 and 920,000 ounces for 2026. On a pro-forma basis, assuming a full year of operations from the newly acquired sites, the figure effectively reaches 1.1 million ounces. Despite this operational momentum, the company’s stock saw a 3.4% decline to C$15.77 in morning trading, extending a year-to-date loss of 18%. The miner maintains a solid balance sheet, closing the quarter with $527 million in cash and total available liquidity of $1.2 billion.
