Starfighters Space Names New CEO as Founder Rick Svetkoff Resigns

Tim Franta, who has served as the company’s vice president of development since 2022, assumes the chief executive role effective immediately. Franta brings an extensive background in regional aerospace policy and industrial development, having previously served as deputy director for Energy Florida in Cape Canaveral and chief of staff for the Florida Space Authority.

Leadership Transition and Market Impact

The leadership shakeup marks the end of a nearly three-decade tenure for Rick Svetkoff, who established the firm in 1996. Starfighters Space occupies a specialized niche in the private aerospace sector, operating a fleet of modified supersonic aircraft designed to launch payloads into orbit. Alongside the founder's exit, his spouse, Brenda Svetkoff, has also resigned from her position as company secretary.

Investors reacted sharply to the news of the executive turnover. Shares of Starfighters Space fell 16% to $7.63 following the announcement. While the company confirmed the new appointments, it has not yet disclosed the specific circumstances surrounding the Svetkoffs' departures.
