Tectonic Therapeutic Names Biotech Veteran François Nader as Board Chair

The leadership change marks a strategic pivot for the company. According to a company statement, François Nader brings extensive experience in navigating high-stakes biotechnology exits and governance. He currently serves as an independent director at Moderna, where he leads both the talent and compensation and the nominating and governance committees.

A Record of Strategic Transactions

Nader’s track record includes several high-profile industry shifts. He previously served as chairman of Acceleron Pharma during its acquisition by Merck, and held the role of chief executive at NPS Pharmaceuticals. His earlier career included leadership positions at Aventis and its predecessor organizations.

The outgoing chair, Terry McGuire, will officially resign the chairmanship on April 1 but maintain his board seat until the annual shareholder meeting in June. This deliberate overlap is intended to provide continuity as Tectonic advances its clinical-stage pipeline.
