Morozoff Profits Slide Amid Rising Costs

Morozoff Ltd. saw its first-quarter net profit drop to 183 million yen from 264 million yen a year ago, even as the Japanese confectioner managed to nudge its revenue slightly higher. The decline reflects a tightening margin environment for the period ending April 30, 2026, compared to the previous year.

The company reported revenue of 9.15 billion yen, up from 9.00 billion yen in the same quarter of 2025. Despite this growth in top-line sales, profitability metrics contracted significantly. Operating profit fell to 272 million yen from 421 million yen, while pretax profit dropped to 280 million yen from 431 million yen. Earnings per share fell to 9.12 yen, down from 13.06 yen during the prior year period. These results were calculated using Japanese accounting standards.
