Two undisclosed operators have committed $550 million to Transocean for deepwater drilling projects in the Gulf of Mexico and Equatorial Guinea. The awards, announced Monday, extend the company's backlog significantly, with operations scheduled to commence between the first and third quarters of 2027 using the Deepwater Proteus and Deepwater Conqueror rigs.

The Deepwater Proteus drillship secured a 10-well contract valued at approximately $325 million. This assignment is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2027 and will span roughly 700 days of offshore work.

Concurrently, the Deepwater Conqueror rig landed a five-well agreement contributing an estimated $225 million to the company’s backlog, a figure that excludes potential mobilization fees. That project is scheduled for a third-quarter 2027 start date, effectively continuing the rig’s existing program in Equatorial Guinea for a duration of 450 days.
