Live Nation Acquires Italy’s ForumNet to Secure Milan Olympic Venue

Live Nation Entertainment has agreed to acquire Italian venue operator ForumNet Group from Bastogi, a move that brings one of Southern Europe’s busiest arenas under its management. The deal includes the Unipol Forum, a 15,800-seat multipurpose facility that attracts roughly 2 million attendees annually for music and sporting events.

The acquisition positions Live Nation as a central player in the preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympics, as the Unipol Forum is scheduled to host both figure skating and short-track speed skating. Currently, the arena serves as the home for the Armani Olimpia Milano basketball team, maintaining a consistent schedule of high-profile athletic and entertainment programming throughout the year.

Modernization and Sustainability

Following the takeover, Live Nation plans to deploy significant capital to modernize the facility. The company stated it will prioritize infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance the fan experience while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions. These environmental initiatives reflect a broader corporate strategy to align its global venue portfolio with modern sustainability standards.

While the strategic importance of the deal is clear, the financial specifics of the agreement with Bastogi were not disclosed. The transaction reinforces Live Nation’s strategy of vertical integration, securing premium real estate in key international markets to complement its existing concert promotion and ticketing businesses.
